Mekon provide bespoke and custom training services for our clients who are involved in (or would like to learn more about) XML, Adobe creative tools, XML authoring tools, web design and development and many other creative and content related disciplines.
This service differs from the traditional classroom approach in a key way: clients don't just learn key skills; they get to apply them to their existing projects with the benefit of coaching from an expert.
How does the concept work?
Traditional training focuses on providing key-skills through a classroom environment. A trainer demonstrates something and the trainees try it out. This is great way of learning about the features of an application or technology.
However, over the years, we've noticed that delegates need more than this: they need to feel comfortable applying their newly acquired skills to the real tasks they face in their working environment. And that's where the 'coaching’ aspect of the course comes in.
During the ‘coaching’ part of the course, Mekon’s trainer works with the delegates exclusively on real projects that they have to complete for their work. There are two major benefits of addressing training in this manner, 1) clients ensure that they can apply everything they learnt on the training to their work and 2) clients get expert guidance and tips-and-tricks from an industry professional on their work project.
What can clients expect from the training?
They will study in detail many of the features of their chosen application or technology. The training is conducted in a similar manner to our public training courses, but the course content is driven by a clients requirements, which are discussed in details between them and the trainer before the course to ensure that course has the content specific to both project and personal requirements.
What can a client expect from the 'coaching' aspect?
Mekon’s expert professional trainer will be with them to guide them through the procedure of applying their new skills to one of their live projects. Clients choose which project they’d like to work on and Mekon’s trainer will help them develop the best methods and skills suited to the task at hand.
What applications (or technologies) can I study during the training and coaching sessions?
The list of applications (or technologies) covered by this exciting training service will include web design, Adobe CS4 and 5 and Quark print and web applications. Web development and social media will be available later in 2010.
